Dr. Loredana-Ileana Viscu is Vice-Rector of Tibiscus University and President of the Institute of Psychotherapy, Psychological Counselling and Clinical Supervision (IPCS), Romania. Dr. Viscu obtained her BSc from West University, Timisoara, and her PhD from University of Bucharest. She brings more than two decades of clinical psychotherapy experience and a decade of psychology teaching experience. Dr. Viscu’s areas of interest include clinician supervision in psychotherapy, integrative psychotherapy, and psychotherapy training. She coordinates training programs in integrative psychotherapy and integrative psychological counseling for children, adolescents, and families at the Institute of Psychotherapy, Psychological Counselling and Clinical Supervision. Dr. Viscu brings prior book development experience, including Elsevier’s Competency Based Training for Clinical Supervisors; A Guide to Clinical Supervision; and The Supervision Pyramid.

Dr. Ioana-Eva Cadariu is Associate Professor at Tibiscus University, Romania. Dr. Cadariu obtained her MS from West University and PhD from Tibiscus University, Romania. Her work specializes in clinical supervision and psychotherapy, mental health, education psychology, social work, and clinical supervision. She is also engaged in research exploring the impact of artificial intelligence and digitalization on education, counselling, and psychosocial practice. Dr. Cadariu brings prior book development experience from Elsevier’s Competency Based Training for Clinical Supervisors.

There is a growing need to reach beyond the idea of supervision as a competency for clinical supervisors and start categorizing and expanding upon what those competencies are. Competency Based Training for Clinical Supervisors builds upon the current Competencies Schema to design a framework for training programs. The authors begin with providing readers with a practical program curriculum, addressing the challenges of treatment and workplace satisfaction. The next sections are divided based on the transversal competencies: intellectual order, methodological order, personal and social order, and communication order. The last section of the book is dedicated to the ethics in both training programs and models for psychotherapy and clinical supervision.
