Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. 1st Edition. Content Description. First edition of the highly regarded obstetrics reference that became a standard work in the field. Edited by Steven G. Gabbe, Jennifer R. Niebyl, and Joe Leigh Simpson, Obstetrics: Normal and Problem Pregnancies provides comprehensive coverage of normal pregnancy as well as the diagnosis and management of obstetric complications, with contributions from numerous specialists and extensive clinical illustrations, photographs, diagrams, and ultrasound images. The importance of this first edition was recognized early. Reviewing the second edition in the New England Journal of Medicine in 1992, John S. Weitzner, M.D., described the original 1986 textbook as "extremely well received" and said that it "became the bible of obstetrics almost overnight." The work subsequently continued through numerous editions and has remained a major reference in obstetrics. This copy is the 1986 first edition, published by Churchill Livingstone?an attractive example of the original edition of a medical textbook that went on to become a long-running standard in its field. Of particular interest to physicians, medical historians, collectors of medical texts, and those interested in the history and development of modern obstetric practice. Condition Description. Very Good. First edition. Clean, tight, well-preserved copy. Interior pages are clean and bright with no writing, highlighting, or markings. Binding is firm. Red hardcover boards show moderate surface rubbing and light shelf/edge wear, with minor wear at corners and spine ends. Endpapers show some light age-related spotting/soiling. Overall, an unusually nice copy of this 1986 first edition, particularly clean internally. Nº de ref. del artículo: CEBP ? 0012
