This is the fourth volume in an annual review series on pathology, describing issues of everyday diagnostic relevance and the molecular mechanisms underlying them. The chapters are short and concise and are designed to be read in about half an hour and will update the readers on a particular subject in one go. Readers are also provided with reviews on a range of topics covered in a large number of journals and the text assembles and distills information spread around the primary journals to give a considered view of developments and how they might have an impact on practice in the view of a particular clinician.
