This manual outlines the theoretical development and describes in detail computer programs for the use of engineers in their assessment of the behaviour of electrical rotating machines in response to normal and abnormal operating conditions. This suite of programs caters for traditional generation systems and can be run on any PC system operating under MS-DOS 3.3 or higher. Supplied on 3 1/2 disk only.

The contents of this book are intended for those concerned with the simulation of the performance of generation systems. The subject is of importance to practising electrical engineers because of the many situations that arise in the design and operation of modem electromechanical systems and electrical power systems. The simulation programs contained in this book cover the prediction of generator performance for both large and small scale units. Synchronous generators of the round rotor and salient-pole variety of ratings of between a few Megawatts to around 1200 MW are invariably used by public supply companies for the generation of electrical power. For industrial purposes a variety of types of generator are used, including steam and gas turbines, and medium to low speed diesel engine driven generators, the former for those cases where process steam is available and the latter often in the role of marine generation or in a standby role.

Paperback. Condición: New. This manual outlines the theoretical development and describes in detail, computer programs for the use of engineers in their assessment of the behaviour of electrical rotating machines in response to normal and abnormal operating conditions. This suite caters for traditional generation systems. Of particular importance to consulting engineers is the performance of generator controls and switchgear operating times in relation to the retention of plant stability. This aspect, together with the effect on the generation plant mechanical system, are given prominence in the use of the software provided. This suite of programs can be run on any PC system operating under MS-DOS 3.3 or higher. A 486 or 386 PC system with a maths co-processor is recommened and the package is supplied on 3.5" disk. This book should be of interest to engineers in power engineering. Softcover reprint of the original 1st ed. 1996. Nº de ref. del artículo: LU-9780412578502
