I have not aecom panied the second part of the Reader with Questions, leaving iti to the Teacher to continue and extend the System. The poetical part contains a selection of german Ballads and lyric Poetry, from distinguished modern poets, as well as a few Pieces of my own composition and for which I claim the readers hind indulgence. The german Handwriting for the Practice of reading and writing german characters, I had purposely engraved in Germany and trust that what regards Typography the work will yield to none hitherto published in this country. I have spared nothing to render this little volume of usefulness to the Student and sin cerely trust, that my efforts might not have.
