Gunnery Instructors must carefully familiarize themselves with the following details, which have been prepared with the view of obtaining uniformity and thoroughness in the course of instruction of apprentices in gunnery. These details must be carried out in every particular as laid down, and, when this is impracticable, or there is doubt as to the mean ing of any part of them, the officer in charge of the gunnery branch should be consulted immediately. During drill periods, when not detailed for other duty, it is expected that the instructors will take advantage of the opportunity for, perfecting themselves in the various drills and exercises.
