I should say at the outset that i thought these three publications (covering Foundation, Intermediate and Higher) were the best I'd read...The guides manage to strike that balance between adopting a lively style yet not having so many colours and arrows to match Dali's interpretaion of Custer's last stand. They give short explanation topic-by-topic, trial examples followed by exam questions. in addition a web site gives model answers in Acrobat format. On the face of it, that might not sound much different from any other guide, but these did exude that intangible air of 'authority' and professionalism that seems to be lacking in so many others...If your school has the funding, then purchasing a set of quality revision guides like these with Internet support might just be the answer. -- Robert Goodhand, Mathematics in School 20030901

This "GCSE Exam Revision: Mathematics for OCR" book covers the requirements of the Higher tier as specified in the National Curriculum. Written by experienced examiners, it is particularly aimed at OCR GCSE Mathematics Specifications A (1962), B (MEI; 1968) and C (Graduated Assessment; 1966). The book includes general advice on revision and the exams, plus a handy "Revision record". Each topic is covered in a double-page spread, and consists of explanatory text and examples followed by "Now try these!" questions to consolidate learning. Worked exam questions show students the sorts of things examiners are looking for, while further exam questions provide plenty of practice for both the calculator and the non-calculator papers. Answers to all questions are included.
