Sinopsis
Each double-paged spread focuses on one letter of the alphabet (e.g. b) and has a large, busy illustration based on a favourite fairytale or nursery rhyme (e.g. "The Three Bears"). Around the border are little pictures of objects featured in the scene which begin with the target letter (e.g. bear, bed, bowl). Children are encouraged to say the name of the objects and find them in the big picture. The special Superphonics letter-pictures help make the link between letters and sounds. "Superphonics ABC" is packed with interest and great fun for parents and children to share. It will help children learn how letters look and sound - essential first steps in reading.

Acerca del autor
Ruth Miskin is a leading authority on phonics and the teaching of reading. She has over 20 years' teaching experience and until recently was head teacher of Kobi Nazrul School, Tower Hamlets, London. She was an adviser to the National Literacy Strategy and is now national training director of Success for All, a literacy programme which trains British teachers.
