"Short Term Psychotherapy" is a sourcebook for those counsellors or psychotherapists wishing to take a psychodynamic approach whilst working in a time limited framework. Alex Coren provides a comprehensive account of short-term psychodynamic work, both historical and current. He also gives an overview of time limited psychotherapies from other therapeutic traditions, indicating both their similarities and differences. Drawing on this work he presents a practical and approachable model of short-term therapy which develops current psychoanalytic thinking and practice. Following this he looks at some of the practical implications of short-term work, including training, supervision and the issue of when short-term work may or may not be appropriate.
