JANE SEYMOUR is Lecturer in Social Research, School of Comparative and Applied Social Sciences, University of Hull. She has contributed to Men, Gender Divisions and Welfare, and Gender, Power and the Household. PAUL BAGGULEY, School of Sociology and Social Policy, University of Leeds. His publications include From Protest to Acquiescence? Political Movements of the Unemployed, and he is co-author of Restructuring: Place, Class and Gender.
