The second edition is now in four parts. The first part covers power device electrical and thermal characteristics and how they relate to a device's physical structure. The second describes device driving and protection techniques. The third gives a general selection of power electronic applications. The three new chapters in Part 4 are on capacitors, soft magnetic materials, and resistors. Extra examples and problems have been included to enhance further the book's value as a course text.
