This book is a self-teaching text aimed at students of engineering courses whose performance on their qualifying course was less than adequate. Such students should work through the text before beginning the degree course, so that serious gaps in their knowledge may be filled. The format comprises three programmed texts, arranged in 'frames'. The programs are designed to be worked through sequentially.
