Experience gained through earlier prefaces has taught the author the uh certainty Oi predictions concerning future publications. It is, nevertheless, his expectation that this work will be completed in its first edition within a reasonable time by the publication of a fourth volume, which will include procedures for the identification of the more important organic compounds containing combinations of the elements that have not been treated.
