Excerpt from Operability and Location of Michigan's Timber Resource
The tables provided in this report permit timber land and growing-stock volume to be separated into operability classes by forest type, volume per acre class, stand-age class, ownership class, and distance from wood-using center. In addition, the tables permit up to three operability components to be discounted and operability class to be determined based on the remaining relevant components.
