Críticas:

"Dual Language Essentials provides vivid portraits of students, teachers, and administrators who are at the center of a growing movement that has the potential to radically transform American education. As the research and practice discussed in this book so clearly demonstrate, all students can develop fluency and literacy in two or more languages if we choose to give them the opportunity. This book is essential reading for all educators who are committed to preparing students to thrive in a global society where knowledge of additional languages is a key component of overall literacy."-Jim Cummins, University of Toronto, Coauthor of Multilingual Education in Practice

"Anyone beginning a new dual language program or looking to improve an existing program should read this book. Our school used the Freemans' essentials, and they were invaluable for training new staff and changing and improving the current thematic units being used in our dual language curriculum."-Sharon Royers, Castelar Title VII Grant Coordinator, Omaha, Nebraska

"Teachers and administrators alike will find Dual Language Essentials an invaluable guide to a range of specific instructional strategies that work. Read this book and give your students a gift that lasts. Instruction in two languages promises bilingualism, biliteracy, and a multicultural understanding of the world."-Shelly Spiegel-Coleman President, California Together and Board Member, Two-Way CABE

"Packed with powerful strategies for the high academic achievement of all students, this essential and comprehensive reference is a must-read for all educators of the twenty-first century. Readable and practical while grounded in research, this definitive overview and implementation guide on dual language programs is destined to become a classic."-Virginia P. Collier, Ph.D., Professor of Bilingual/Multicultural/ESL Education, George Mason University
