The greatest task the pupil. Has in the primary work of the study of'shorthand, is to commit the word signs. Then after they think they have them thoroughly learned, and attempt to take them out of the list and start to write, they find they still are not sure of position, which makes slow work for the student, and tedious for the teacher to watch carefully and see that they use them properly, as word signs must go to their position.
