Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the essence of Christianity, the ways in which Christian tradition and dogma have been reflected in painting, architecture, and literature, and the social and personal benefits that the philosophy provides. The author argues that the Catholic Church has been a force for good in the world, providing aid to the poor and sick, supporting the arts, and preserving knowledge during the Dark Ages. The book delves deeply into biblical mysteries and sacraments, and explores how a divine religion is impossible without mysteries, and how beauty is impossible without secrets. The author draws comparisons between Christian art and artists and their pagan counterparts, demonstrating that in nearly every case, Christian art and artistic expression is superior in both beauty and depth of meaning.
