In several instances, many suitable words or expressions were added, for which the Editor is, of course, responsible Abridgment formed an essential part of the plan, yet it was not intended to sup recs any thing which, to the young scholar, was of importance. Studying partien ariy the interest of the latter, and trusting to the liberality of the Proprietor, the Editor has allowed this part of the Work to remain considerabl y more extended than was either wished or anticipated.
