To rest 1t on the basis of Grammar, and thereby facilitate the acquisition of it to learners, I have undertaken the present work' How far I have sue-2 ceeded, those who are sk1lled in the language will be the best judges. I have used my best endeavours to render the book. As complete as possible; it contains a scale of the vowels, diphthongs, and triphthongs, collated with corresponding English sounds, and the various powers of the consonants are pointed out, to render their pronunciation more easy to the learner.
