Ma quel solerte funzionario arrivò trafelato, dovette prendere un necessario ristoro, e dopo pranzo ebbe bisogno di riposo. Presso al partire, quando gli presentarono Sebastiano De Caroli e seppe come anda vano le cose, rise proprio di cuore. Poi con fina ironia, volgendosi agli astanti, esclamò: Ecco un assessore senza grattacapi!
