Sinopsis

Excerpt from St. Knighton's Keive: A Cornish Tale; With a Postscript and Glossary

The speaker was a respectable middle aged solicitor, practising in the small country town of Wadebridge, in the north of Corn wall, and the person he was addressing, and who was perpetually shifting about in his chair, and twirling his hat round and round, was a little, cute-looking, bronze faced mine captain, who, though still in middle life, had been to almost all parts of the world, wherever, that is, a mine was to be worked, and who, like most of his class, was full of intelligence, and keen and sharp-sighted enough wherever his own interests were at all concerned.
