Deacon Josiah Converse, eldest son of Deacon Edward and Sarah Con verse, was born in England; came with his father to New England, 1630; and to Woburn, 1641 was deacon of Woburn Church, 1674. He married Esther Champney, March 26, 1651, daughter of Richard Champney, ruling elder of the church in Cambridge.
