After the recognition which has been subscribed to in various quarters, regarding the validity of the principles which form the basis of the following little treatise, nothing appears to be more wanted, in order to adapt to popular apprehension some knowledge of the Science of Mind, than a Manual of its Initial Department, divested of all such disjunct matters as are usually, with a view to readers of a different class, mixed up with a delineation of the Subject, and which have been matter of frequent specific complaint, for having distracted the attention, and confused the under standing, of readers in ordinary.
