Paperback. Condición: New. Print on Demand. This book explores the structure, functions, and diseases of the kidneys, providing a comprehensive guide for understanding these vital organs. Before the 19th century, kidney disease was considered to be dropsy and often led to death by blood poisoning. The author, Dr. Dixon, draws on the research and discoveries of Dr. Bright, who first identified and classified the disease in 1827. This book discusses the causes, symptoms, and treatment of various kidney diseases, including Bright's disease, which is now known as glomerulonephritis. The author also provides chemical tests for the analysis of urine, which can help in diagnosing and monitoring kidney function. While medical knowledge has advanced since this book's publication, it remains a valuable resource for understanding the history and foundational concepts of kidney disease. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Nº de ref. del artículo: 9780260273123_0
