Xl'he year after, Powell had an opportunity of one tering into the management of covent-garden Thea tre, conjointly with Messrs Harris, Rutherford, and Colman; he could not refrain from seizing this, al though his articles to Lacy and Garrick, managers of drury-lane, wanted one year of aspiration, and the breach whereof cost him a thousand pounds.
