In submitting in printed form these discourses on Evolution and Religion, Rev. Canon Bertal Heeney is making a distinct contribution to the religious thought of ur country. Coming as they do at a time when considerable attention is being direc ted in Canada and the United States to the relationship of science to re ligion, these discourses should be a source of great help to those who have had difficulty in finding a solu tion for their religious problems in the light of modern science. This is particularly true of the young stu dent whose religious thinking at first is liable to be upset by the teachings of science. A careful analysis of the subject as given in these discourses impresses the fact that the teach ings oi natural science only tend to strengthen our belief in the fund ameutais of our Christian faith.
