On désigne sous le nom de roches globuleuses celles dans lesquelles certains minéraux se sont réunis en globules; ces globules peuvent être formés de miné raux variés; le plus généralement cependant ils sont presque entièrement feld Spathiques, comme cela a lieu, par exemple, pour la diorite orbiculaire de Corse ou pour la variolite de la Durance (l).
