It was necefiary for the B-rr, by early Pre cautions, to prevent the Poflibility of this Union In Order to which End, they cultivated the Ac quaintance they had lately made, and at length en texted into aé'tual Engagements with the new Lea ders of the Oppofition; exprefsly f'tipulating in a proper Time to'declare for them; binding them felves, in the firongef't Manner, and in all Events, either by Management, or Dif'trefs, to prevail upon, or to compel his 9' 9* *e 9 to make room for them, by the Removal of the Earl of G - le (then Lord C-t) and his Friends.
