The numerous rendered necessary by the legislation of the Grand Lodge of the United States have been carefully made in the present volume, and the Publishers have the satisfaction of believing that they again offer to the Order the most perfect work on Odd Fellowship to be found at the present time.

The Fraternity is indebted to Moss 85 brother, the worthy publishers of this Work, for the idea Of an odd-fellows' text-book. At their suggestion, I have written and compiled this Volume. I need not advert to the labor it has cost me to prepare it: I will only say that I have endeavored faithfully to dis charge the trust confided to me.
