Les faits concernant les Nova: (p. 40) viennent aussitôtappu ter cette première hypothèse qui se précise sous la forme suivante l'un des corps originels sera une nébuleuse amorphe douée de translation (et non de rotation, comme dans l'hypothèse de Laplace); l'autre corps apportera au système dualiste la rotation sous forme d'un tube - tourbillon gazeux doué de translation. Ici encore les faits viennent confirmer cette hypothèse, puisque les filaments nébuleux reliant plusieurs des Pléiades ne peuvent être que des tourbillons.

Comment donc expliquer que la cosmogonie de Laplace et celle de ses successeurs (roche, Faye, du Ligondès) n'aient abouti à aucune loi vérifiable? C'est sans doute, ditl'auteur, que le monisme d'une seule nébuleuse originelle ne renferme pas assez de variables indépendantes pour résoudre le problème: il faut alors considérer deux corps à l'origine, et ce dualisme sera corrélatif de l'intro duction en cosmogonie des translations qui la réduisent en une balistique cosmique et qui ont été négligées jusqu'ici, bien que l'énergie cinétique de translation du système solaire soit 200 fois plus grande que son énergie giratoire.
