Excerpt from The Old Line, Vol. 10: October, 1940
We met a man the other day who had quite a problem. He couldn't figure out what made the sun rise. Early in the morning he awakened to watch it come up in the east over the dear old briar patch and at night watched it sink down in the west behind the leafy expanse of the green forest. And always the next morning it wouldn't come up from where it had disappeared the night before; it was always over on the other side by the dear Old briar patch. Very mysterious you know. One morning he got up real real early about four O'clock, and went out on the front porch to see if he could find out how it was done. And in a couple of hours, you know what? It dawned on him.
