The subjects treated are, confessedly, among the most difficult, and it is not claimed that the discussion of any one of them is exhaustive. The aim has simply been to blaze a path through a very intricate forest for the benefit of future explorers.
Whatever its faults, the book is the concrete result of a very busy and sincere life experience, and it is believed that it will meet the intellectual as well as the heart-wants of a large number of persons.
If it shall aid the reader to a substantial faith in God, and to unshaken trust in His providence.
