The design of these Notes is to present an accurate, clear, and condensed exposition of the International Sabbath-school Lessons for the year 1876. The latest and best works on biblical litera ture have been consulted; and results are given, rather than the' various opinions and discussions of scholars, which; for no other reason, would occupy too much space in a volume of this charac ter. Th'e commentaries and works that have been the most freely used are those of J amieson, Fausset and Brown, Lange, J acobus, A. Clarke, Henry, Peirce, Hackett, Kitto, and Robin son.
