For some time after Alice learned to talk there was still one word that never seemed to come out right - the word animal, which always came out as aminal. Her brother Oliver teased her, but when Alice gets a guniea pig for her birthday she names him Aminal to make her funny word a real one.

Alice fetched the three-legged pig and plopped it down in the middle of the food, where it snorted and grunted and gobbled, collapsed on its back and wiggled its legs at Alice as if it hadn't even noticed that she'd gi ven the food to the turkey first.
