From an institutional perspective, the book carries out comparative analysis of ’the power of the purse.’ It explores cross-national differences, their determinants and their impact on fiscal policy. The empirical analysis is based on a dataset of legislative budgeting in all 30 OECD countries, a broader 80-country dataset, and case study evidence.

Acerca del autor
JOACHIM WEHNER is Senior Lecturer in Public Policy in the Department of Government at the London School of Economics and Political Science, UK. His research is in the area of political economy, in particular public budgeting and fiscal policy. He has also consulted for the World Bank and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.
