His book Chega de saudade was published in US as Bossa Nova - the story of the Brazilian music that seduced the world and his passionate account of life in Rio will be published by Bloomsbury the UK next year. Castro has worked for many of Brazil's top newspapers and magazines. He was born in 1948 and lives in Rio de Janeiro.
