Lipoproteins play an important role in maintaining the normal distribution of lipids in the body and in the transport of lipophilic comounds. They are also implicated, however, in some of the major diseases of the Western world including atherosclerosis, heart disease, and stroke, which has led to a dramatic proliferation of lipoprotein research. The focus of this volume is on the analysis of the biological activity of lipoproteins.
