This is the Big Book version of a "Topic Starters" book. "Topic Starters" are part of the "Fact Finders" series, the non-fiction component of the "Oxford Reading Tree". The books introduce non-fiction to pre-readers and very early readers in Nursery and Reception/Year 1 in a simple, accessible form. They can also be used for special needs pupils. "Topic Starters" are child-centred discussion books which provide opportunities to research questions and develop knowledge and information-retrieval skills while learning topic vocabulary. Each title links to a title in the "Fact Finders A B C" series and "More A B C" series titles: "Myself", "Clothes", "People", "Houses and Homes" and "Schools".
