This handbook is an introduction to the taxonomy of brachyuran crabs of the waters surrounding the British Isles. Written with the needs of the non-specialist in mind, the identification keys to families, genera, and species are annotated for use with the many accompanying line drawings. There are also photographs of all the species. The book describes distribution, classification, reproductive bionomics, colouring, morphology and other features, summarizing our current knowledge of north-eastern Atlantic crab fauna.
