Sinopsis

Although most of the major South African political organizations recognize the need for a Bill of Rights, the level of awareness amongst the majority of the population is regrettably low. Written by a number of leading academics and examining the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, this book considers the extent to which South African law ignores particular standards, and how individuals and South African society as a whole would benefit from the recognition of the rights or freedoms claimed in the Declaration.
