Mushirul Hasan is Director General, National Archives of India, New Delhi. A Padmashree awardee, he is former Vice Chancellor, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. He has held visiting professorships at the Universities of Rome, Virginia, Hungary, and at the Maison Des Sciences De L'Homme, Paris, as well as the International Institute of Languages and Civilizations, INALCO, Paris.
