This was one of the first highly readable texts for those beginning the study of psychophysiology, and it soon became a classic for thousands of students. Now, 21 years later, the second edition has appeared. It is an expanded and updated version of the first edition and takes into account the technological advances made over the last two decades. All in all, the book by Stern et al. is a concise and scholarly introduction into the difficult field of psychophysiology. The text is highly readable. The various attractive illustrations facilitate understanding.
