Sinopsis
This introduction to the complete field of nonlinear dynamics has been designed specifically for students, scientists and engineers with little or no previous experience in the field, and only a modest background in physics and calculus. It provides an introduction to the state space dynamics, iterated map models, and methods of quantifying chaotic behaviour. Combined with its treatment of "advanced" topics such as Hamiltonian dynamics, pattern formation and quantum chaos, the book should encourage the reader to tackle research literature in nonlinear dynamics.
