Sinopsis
This is an integrated view of the special features of epileptic syndromes in the immature brain. The immature brain is quite different from its adult counterpart and understanding of normal and pathological functions in the immature central nervous system (CNS) require a special appreciation of developmentally unique mechanisms. This is the first time that basic developmental neurobiological insights and clinical neurological understanding relevant to the epilepsies are presented together.
