Sinopsis
Behavior genetics, the study of how genes regulate developmental changes in behavior, draws together experimental research in molecular and quantitative genetics, neurobiology, and developmental psychology. This new volume includes contributions from leading experts who bring readers the benefit of their experience in many diverse areas by examining current theory and methods and by suggesting directions for future research. The book takes a unique interdisciplinary approach, focusing on the integration of development into the study of behavior, the role of genes in the construction of the nervous system, and the role of natural selection in shaping developing behaviors. Many chapters deal directly with methodological and quantitative issues, providing detailed study of the interactive roles of genes, environment, and development, and placing them within the context of current evolutionary thinking.
