Sinopsis
Winnie the Witch is a modern classic in the world of picture books. In it we meet Winnie who lives in a big black house in the forest. A house that she shares with her big black cat, Wilbur. And that, so the story goes, is how the trouble begins. Whenever Wilbur curls up on a black chair or the black carpet, Winnie either sits on him or takes a tumble. This has got to stop! So Winnie uses her magic wand to change Wilbur's colour. But this leads to a different kind of problem: poor Wilbur doesn't like his multi-coloured fur and climbs up a tree, feeling very sorry for himself. Then Winnie has a wonderful idea that will stop the accidents and keep Wilbur happy. She waves her magic wand with spectacular and colourful results.

Acerca del autor
After writing Winnie the Witch, Valerie Thomas has taken Winnie on all kinds of adventures - on her broomstick and a flying carpet, with a baby dragon and a giant pumpkin, under the sea and even into outer space! Valerie, who lives in Australia, doesn't own a broomstick herself, but she has travelled to most parts of the world. Korky Paul, born in Zimbabwe, is a well-known illustrator. His drawings appear in more than 25 Winnie books, as well as many other poetry anthologies and picture books. Known only to himself as 'the world's greatest portrait artist', Korky visits schools to promote his passion for drawing. He lives in Oxford with his wife where he regularly cooks on the 'braai'.
