Pritchett, V. S.

9780141014197: London Perceived

Sinopsis

'One lives in it, afloat but half submerged in a heavy flood of brick, stone, asphalt, slate, steel, glass, concrete and tarmac, seeing nothing fixable beyond a few score white spires...'

This extraordinary collaboration between text and image was first published in 1962 and captures with astonishing intimacy the world of post-Blitz, pre-Beatles London. A distillation of Pritchett's feelings for the city he knew inside out and a brilliant brief history, LONDON PERCEIVED is a strange, stylish and beautiful work of art.
