Sinopsis

Catullus is a poet of many parts; his poems can be delicate and charming, violent and obscene, passionate, or restrained. No single poet has been able to capture this variety, but this collection presents Catullus in English in all his voices and genres. Spanning four centuries, Julia Gaisser's selection includes translations from Sidney and Jonson to Ezra Pound and Stevie Smith.
