Sinopsis

On a cold night in April 1912, the magnificent liner TITANIC, proclaimed unsinkable, struck an iceberg and went down with appalling loss of life. In the years since his best-seller in 1955, Walter Lord has continued his research into every aspect of the story and the result is this fascinating companion volume that explores many of the riddles - how well built was the 'unsinkable' TITANIC? Did the captain really know how to handle the ship? Why were six wireless warnings ignored? What was the band really playing? And finally, now that she has been found, what are the chances of salvaging the TITANIC?
