Not only have they been active practitioners with first hand knowledge of the techniques described, but have also developed effective ways of getting their message across to students from a wide variety of backgrounds. It lays a firm foundation in analysis and is suitable for a wide range of undergraduate courses.The techniques introduced include spray and tree diagrams, data flow diagrams, data modelling, normalisation and entity life histories. The approach throughout is to introduce the techniques by the use of step-by-step worked examples.
